Action Text Alerts
These are jobs that we need done on a periodic basis, sometimes on short notice. If you sign up for "action alerts" on the volunteer form, you will be added to a list of people who get texts or emails when we need help with the following:
Take shifts at one of our neighborhood water stations, stocking and distributing water.
Talk face-to-face with community members to help us share out about the services we provide and the work we do.
Become a Volunteer
WPD has worked tenaciously with its network of volunteers to provide water to Detroit residents and advocate for a sustainable water future. WPD canvasses door-to-door in order to provide information to Detroit residents. WPD also manages an emergency water hotline, supervises Water Stations, and delivers water to households in need of water relief. Partnering with coalitions and countless other grassroots organizations, WPD VOLUNTEERS are a critical part of building water justice and the Human Right to Water!
